World of Warcraft: Gaining exalted reputation with the Kalu’ak

The Kalu’ak are a race of Tuskarr who have camps in Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra and Dragonblight in Northrend, both Horde and Alliance players can begin questing with the Kalu’ak immediately.

Neutral Reputation with the Kalu’ak

As players normally move onto Northrend from Outland at around the level 70 mark, they will either begin questing in Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra. The Kalu’ak have camps in both zones, so which ever zone the player starts in, they will encounter the Kalu’ak. By clicking on a member of the faction will immediately make the player neutral, and a number of quests will be available immediately.

The Kalu’ak in Dragonblight

As a player quests in either of the Northrend starting zones, they will soon make their way to Dragonblight, the Kalu’ak also have a base here called Moaki Harbour. If a player completes the normal non-repeatable quests with the Kalu’ak, their reputation will rapidly increase.

Daily Quests with the Kalu’ak

The Kalu’ak are different from some other factions in that the daily quests become available once the player has completed them as a normal quest, the player does not have to be at a particular reputation status to be able to do them. There are three different quests available with the Kalu’ak that once complete will become dailies. The dailies are at each of the three camps: Kamagua in Howling Fjord, Kaskala in Borean Tundra and Moaki Harbour in Dragonblight. Each daily gives 500 reputation once completed, so doing all three each day gives 1500 reputation (1650 for humans), which will quickly make the player exalted. Also beneficial is that a player can sail through these dailies before they are level 80, as they are very easy to do.

The Kalu’ak Fishing Contest

In a recent patch, a fishing contest has been introudced with the Kalu’ak, similar to the one that takes place in Stranglethorn Vale. The Kalu’ak fishing contest takes place on a saturday, and if successful the player will gain reputation with the Kalu’ak and unique items. Although the contest is fun it isn’t the best way to become exalted with this faction.

Exalted Reputation with the Kalu’ak

It is so quick to become exalted with the Kalu’ak as they are one of the few Northrend factions where it is only possible to gain reputation by doing dailies, there is no tabard available, no reputation gains with them from any dungeons and no reputation tokens to purchase or exchange for badges. Once a player does become exalted with the Kalu’ak, they will gain the achievement called ‘Tuskarrmageddon’ and will count towards the total number of exalted reputations a player house.

Useful items will be available to purchase from the Kalu’ak quartermasters at the camp, such as leatherworking and jewel-crafting recipes. Also an epic fishing pole will be available, which grants increased fishing skill and the ability to breath underwater and a non-combat companion pet ‘Pengu’ will be on offer. For such an easy faction to become exalted with, the rewards offered by the Kalu’ak are very good indeed.
